Aloe Vera is an amazing healing herb that is known around the world. It has so many healing properties, many that you are not probably aware of.

You might remember when you were a kid, when you’re under the sun for a longer period of time, your mom or grandmother put on Aloe Vera all over your body. And you can really see great results. You noticed your skin and body heal faster when using Aloe Vera topically on your skin after sunburn. That is the most common use of Aloe Vera, but today you will learn that Aloe Vera has so many incredible healing properties.

What is Aloe Vera?

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant that belongs to Aloe species. They grow wild in warm climates but can grow also in colder places. It looks like a cactus with fleshy thorny leaves. It grows at about 80-100 cm tall, spreading by offsets and root sprouts. Although there are many species of Aloe, the term Aloe Vera (true Aloe) refers to Aloe Barbadensis Miller.

Aloe Vera or “True Aloe” full grown plant is cultivated for agricultural, medicinal uses, and potted for home decoration. It is called ‘miracle plant or ‘natural healer’ because of its therapeutic advantages and amazing healing properties.

Aloe Vera Leaf Structure

Rind The outer protective layer is the rind. It is where the synthesis and production of all the nutrients in Aloe Vera takes place.

Sap The sap is a layer of bitter fluid which helps protect the plant and contains anthraquinones (thought to be powerful laxatives).

Mucilage Layer This is the inner part of the leaf that is filleted out to make Aloe Vera gel. It contains polysaccharides.

Inner Leaf Gel This gel is sterile and can be used immediately. It contains most of nutrients in the Aloe Vera plant.

Healing Properties of Aloe Vera Polysaccharides on burns, cuts and scrapes One of the reasons why Aloe Vera can help heal wounds and burns on your skin and in your stomach, because it contains a type of sugar called polysaccharides. This can be found in goji berries, honey and in some fermented products like apple cider vinegar. But Aloe Vera contains large amount of polysaccharides and what polysaccharides are known for, is helping the body to heal burns, cuts and scrapes.

Antibacterial Aloe Vera is also a natural antibacterial that helps protect the skin and body from infection and promote healing.

Skin Care and Body Care Another amazing use of Aloe Vera, is that it is use in large amounts today in organic skin care or body care products especially in shampoos and moisturizers. Aloe Vera has shown to thicken hair, strengthen nails, hydrate and moisturize skin.

Digestion Aloe Vera is great for digestion. It can help speed the recovery in healing the intestines and in your gut. It aids in acid reflux, effective against ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and IBS.

Several studies have shown also that Aloe Vera can help fight cancer cells, lower cholesterol, prevent kidney stones, soothe arthritis pain, control high blood pressure and stabilize blood sugar.

So getting a high quality of Aloe Vera supplement, juice, personal care products or the actual plant is a great way to support your body.

It is safe also to purchase online freeze-dried Aloe Vera supplement and cold-pressed Aloe Vera juice.
